American Patrick Deneen is on the course now - consistently the fastest skier down the moguls - but usually doesn't have the difficulty on the jumps to challenge Canadians Alex Bilodeau and Mikael Kingsbury.

Patrick Deneen, 3rd in world, too fast for the Sochi course and couldn't make second jump. He has a second shot to try and make final.

Some explanation for why Swiss goalie Florence Schelling (and Brampton Thunder player) is getting wheeled to the practice ice rink at Sochi.
An initial lack of dressing rooms means the hockey players have had to suit up away from the ice.
For goalies, that means a luggage cart is the only practical way to get around.
Schelling was chosen by the Montreal Stars in the 2012 Canadian Women's Hockey League draft but will play for the Brampton Thunder.
A Reddit poster from Russia says his friend is a volunteer and Schelling didn't want to re-dress, so she was offered a luggage cart.

WIPE OUT: The medical team checked out Finland's Ville Miettunen on the slopes, but he was able to ski down on his own. He didn't get near enough height off that jump, landed forward on his skis and rolled. He took some serious hits.

Canadians Mikael Kingsbury about to go and then Alex Bilodeau soon. They have the hardest men's jumps in the field and if they get down the challenging course in top 10 they skip next round and go straight to first of three final rounds.
