Oly live: No podium for Bode Miller in downhill. Needed to be first in steep upper half of course. He wasn't. Got slower rest way down.

Wow. Bode Miller misses the medal podium in downhill. Great start at the top but too many mistakes in the middle and bottom. Clearly bummed.

Crowd was raucous as Bode crushed top of run, noise dimmed when hit probls halfway down. Maybe 100 USA fans here. Hard venue to reach.

So that means the next shot at any American medals will be Jamie Anderson and Karly Shorr when they compete in the women's slopestyle finals that begin at 4:15 a.m. ET. Shorr will go sixth, Anderson 10th, in the two-run event, with top three best scores earning medals.
